The Universal Memory Jar (UMJ) provides professionals with a simple, structured framework that can be embedded into educational, therapeutic, and wellbeing settings.
Following professional training, practitioners are supported to deliver the UMJ framework within their own environments as a four-module programme, adaptable for group work or one-to-one sessions.
Each module builds understanding gently and safely, using clear language, visual tools, reflective activities, and practical worksheets.
The four modules focus on:
• Building trust and emotional awareness
Introducing feelings, experiences, and reflection through simple, accessible language.
• Understanding experiences
Exploring how nature and nurture shape thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.
• Recognising attachment patterns and triggers
Supporting awareness of emotional responses and introducing coping strategies.
• Strengths, support, and moving forward
Encouraging resilience, connection, and positive next steps.
The UMJ framework is educational and reflective, not diagnostic or therapeutic. It does not replace professional roles but supports awareness, communication, and safe signposting.
This approach allows professionals to deliver consistent, meaningful sessions while adapting the framework to the needs of their service users, pupils, or communities.
Our professional development programs are designed to be engaging and interactive.
